About
A few years ago I was introduced to the world of personal development. And it’s honestly had such a positive impact in my life.⠀It’s one of the things that helped bring about greater self awareness, leading me to therapy to help heal my heart from my past trauma and learn how to function with bipolar and borderline personality.⠀
⠀
It’s helped me realize the power of habits and the long term effects of consistency (even if I’m still struggling with both lol).⠀
⠀
There is one thing in this personal development journey that I just haven’t been able to embrace. Affirmations.⠀
⠀
Not affirmations in and of themselves - but the TYPE of affirmations I see. I am strong. I am capable. I can do anything. I can raise my vibration.⠀
⠀
I get the sentiment. Truly. And I love the intention. Because far to many of us believe lies about our value. But here’s where this falls short for me.⠀
⠀
The truth for me is that I am none of those things.⠀
⠀
I am weak. I am broken. I am fearful. I am a sinner.⠀Apart from Christ.⠀
⠀
You see, left on my own I am bound to self destruct.⠀
⠀
But IN CHRIST ...⠀
⠀
He’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.⠀
⠀
I can do all things THROUGH HIM who gives me strength.⠀
⠀
I am redeemed. Chosen. Set apart. Forgiven. Purposeful.⠀
⠀
The world would have me believe everything I need is in me.⠀
⠀
But I know it is he who lives in me that makes all things possible according to his will.⠀
My hope in developing Affirming Truths and the Who You Say I Am affirmation cards is that you will learn and deeply root the truth abut who you are in Christ - and then walk in freedom to all he has called you to
